You might have noticed that we've taken a little hiatus from the blog over the last few months, with a couple of sporadic posts here and there. With it being summer (I work in a school), I thought I'd have so much free time to blog, but it didn't work out that way!
I ended up being so busy, that I barely got through any of my summer to-do list. Weekends away from home, sunny afternoons with friends and my boyfriend being off work meant that I really didn't have much time for blogging. Things were tight for me financially too, so sadly I didn't get to go on many of the fun trips I had planned for myself and the dogs.
We did get to the caravan in Hayling a couple of times, which I'm so grateful for. Our little family is so lucky to have a bolthole to escape to when things are hard, as they were this summer. A little bit of sun, sea and fresh air can perform miracles, I swear! During our little getaways, we really just enjoy each other's company, eat good food and walk miles with the dogs. It's definitely good for the soul.
We also celebrated Winnie's 1st Gotcha Day in August! I can't believe we've had this little weirdo in our family for a year, it's gone by so quickly. We spent the day snuggling after a trip to Not For Cats, and Winnie was kindly donated a wonderful cake from Doggy Desserts bakery. I wrote a post about our first year with Winnie, which you can find here; it was an emotional one to write but sadly it didn't really get any interaction. It'd mean a lot to me if you'd consider going and showing it some love!
We've also welcomed two new puppies to our family! My parents have always had a gang of gundogs, but this summer they had a bit of a mad moment and added two more. Maggie is an English Springer Spaniel, and came home on 08/08/17 at 10 weeks old. She's bright, mad as a box of frogs and such a snuggle bug. Funnily enough, she was actually born on the day that my family lost our black lab Tilly, so it seemed a bit like fate.
Mabel is a black labrador, and came home on 25/08/17 at 8 weeks old. She's much more laidback than Maggie (though she has her moments!) and is just the sweetest little squish. I say little... she's huge! I forget how quickly big dogs grow. Taking my two hooligans over to my parents' house is even more crazy now, but they're all getting to know each other and it's lovely to watch.
So there we have it! A few snippets of life during our blog absence. We're back now, ready to dust off the camera and get writing again. I hope you're all well!
