I can't believe this is my first post of 2018; I've taken a much-needed break to refresh and recharge, and I've been spending far less time on social media. At the end of last year I felt a little deflated with the blog, and I wasn't really sure why. I'm not a great photographer, I don't have the money (or the time!) to travel lots or take the dogs all over the place, and I think I was bogged down with comparing my blog with other people's. I have a few little goals for the blog this year, and I thought I'd share them with you.
Okay, so this first goal is actually a larger one! I've bought a new domain name, with the intention of re-branding this year... I hope to get the blog re-designed and made a little more "professional", as it's something I don't know how to do alone. However, I'm very attached to Archie's Great Adventures as I created it during a hard time. As a result, I'm very undecided!
Stop feeling the need to photograph everything...
I think we're all guilty of this to an extent, but as a blogger I find myself feeling the need to photograph everything we do for the blog. It's really lovely to go on a long walk with the dogs and not worry about taking photos... even if it does mean I end up short on content for posts! I find walks far more enjoyable when I don't take my camera; I nearly always walk by myself with them, so quite frankly I need my hands free to keep them both from misbehaving! Of course I will still pencil in product photoshoots etc, but I'm looking forward to living in the moment a little more.
Attend some training classes...
This year I'd love to take Archie to some training classes, and document our progress on the blog. Generally he's a good little boy, but it'd be great to get his brain working more and also get some help with his reactivity. There are some fab classes in our area, and I've been along to see what I think. I'm really excited to help Archie reach his potential and improve his general training.
So there we have it, a few little dog blog goals for this year. Do you have any? Tell me in the comments!
